ABOUT
L.P PHYSIO
LP Physio is a private practice situated in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town in Durbanville. We believe the human body is perfectly designed and engineered to allow efficient movement to take place. Throughout life we sustain physical injuries, walk around with pain, undergo surgery, sit longer than we should and often regress in strength due to our busy lifestyles. Our aim is to help you reduce pain, restore function and optimise your movement once again so that you can live a productive and fulfilling life, using your body to the best of its biomechanical ability. We also have a special interest in cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema.

MEET THE TEAM

Lomé Prinsloo: Registered Physiotherapist and Founder
&
FG-MLD Certified Lymphoedema Therapist
My career in rehabilitation began in Pilates nearly 20 years ago. In 2008 I completed my BASI Pilates instructor certification and worked at Body Intellect in Pretoria, where I gained valuable experience in movement-based rehabilitation. With a background in ballet, I developed a strong interest in human movement and the body’s ability to recover and adapt, which ultimately led me to pursue physiotherapy. I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Stellenbosch University in 2012.
Following my community service year, I spent six and a half years gaining experience at a subacute rehabilitation hospital, working in neurological, orthopaedic, and medical-surgical rehabilitation. During this time, I also took on a management role in the private practice where I was employed, further developing my leadership and clinical coordination skills.
In 2016, Lomé Prinsloo Physiotherapy became a service provider at a psychiatric clinic, where I facilitated Pilates-based movement groups and provided individual treatment sessions. This work allowed me to integrate my Pilates and physiotherapy background in supporting patients with mental health conditions through structured movement and body awareness, highlighting the close relationship between physical and psychological well-being
In 2020, I opened the doors of Lomé Prinsloo Physiotherapy and worked alongside the Cape Town Pain Clinic for a brief period before they relocated to the Southern Suburbs. Working in this environment introduced me to complex and persistent pain conditions. My practice naturally evolved to include a growing focus on oncology patients, and I began working more extensively with various Oncology Units in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Looking back over the past 14 years of clinical physio experience, I can see how my journey through Pilates, mental health, chronic pain, and oncology rehabilitation has blended in supporting cancer patients. I am a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist® and a certified FG-MLD Lymphoedema Therapist.
Recognising the need for greater physiotherapy support in oncology care, I helped establish the South African Society of Physiotherapy’s Oncology Special Interest Group, which I chaired for three years. I have contributed to professional education through webinar training for physiotherapists, presented at the South African Oncology Congress in 2023, and most recently published an article in the South African Journal of Family Medicine exploring the role of physiotherapy within the primary oncology care team.
My approach is evidence-based, holistic, and centred on the individual. While I am deeply passionate about oncology rehabilitation, I continue to enjoy treating a wide range of general physiotherapy patients. Whether recovering from cancer treatment, living with pain, managing lymphoedema, or simply aiming to move and feel better, I am committed to providing compassionate care that supports meaningful, functional improvement and quality of life.

Stefanie Van Zyl: Registered Physiotherapist
I am a registered physiotherapist dedicated to understanding, helping, and empowering my patients. I take a holistic, person-centred approach and enjoy using hands-on therapy techniques, particularly in the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on therapeutic movement, mental health, and wellness.
I completed my BSc Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Western Cape in 2020, and I have recently completed my Pilates instructor certification. During my community service year in the Eastern Cape, I learned that physiotherapy goes beyond physical treatment; it must consider the whole person, as every patient’s condition, experience, and expectations are unique. I then transitioned into private healthcare, gaining experience in various specialties, including hospital, rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary-based care. I also worked in the outpatient setting, specialising in neuromusculoskeletal conditions, Pilates, and exercise therapy.
In 2023, I returned to Cape Town and joined the team at Lomé Prinsloo Physiotherapy. I assist in teaching Pilates-based Movement Groups at a psychiatric clinic and provide private consultations there. I also work at the outpatient practice in Durbanville in the mornings. I have completed the Cancer Exercise Specialist® certification and collaborate with Lomé in providing cancer rehabilitation care. I am committed to delivering quality, holistic treatment to all patients, supporting them on their journey to recovery and restoration, regardless of the diagnosis
